Colliers International to auction Ashtons Removals industrial premises

Colliers International will take Ashtons Removals industrial premises at 56 George Street, Southport, to auction on Thursday, 24 March 2011, in-rooms at their Gold Coast office, as part of the Colliers International National Autumn Portfolio.

James Crawford and Pat Cavanagh, both from Colliers International on the Gold Coast, are handling the auction campaign for the 753sq m industrial warehouse, which also features 44 mini storage sheds.

The auction follows an Expressions of Interest campaign which closed in September 2010, and attracted strong interest from storage operators and interstate developers.

Mr Crawford said the property had been under contact until January 2011, at which time the buyer required further time for due diligence.

“Subsequently, the vendors decided to bring the property back to market in order to secure a quick sale,” he said.

“The owners are motivated to sell, having already secured another premises for their expanding business, which has been operating from the George Street premises for 45 years.”

Mr Crawford said at a generous 4,862sq m, 56 George Street is one of the few remaining industrial properties with direct access to Smith Street and as such presents as a prime opportunity for the investor or occupier alike.

The property 900 metres from the Southport CBD, is exposed to more than 45,000 passing vehicles daily and is just minutes to the M1 Pacific Motorway.
